The aim of the Bicester Sculpture Group is to give established artists and new comers the opportunity to expand their individual interests and ideas through the exploration of a broad range of sculpting materials and techniques. Members exhibit their sculptures at the studio and in the garden, on this website, and elsewhere. The Bicester Sculpture Group organises an annual exhibition of member artwork which is open to the general public during "Oxfordshire Artweeks" in May. Our Techniques:The Bicester Sculpture Group offers established artists and new comers the opportunity to work in many different mediums including clay, plaster, fibrocem, wax, resin, metal, stone and wood. Members can expand their knowledge of mould making, the process of making cold-cast bronze resin sculpture and its patination. Life casting using Alginate can also be carried out. The group has acquired a large kiln and a mig welder is available for large-scale armature construction. Specialised workshops offer hands-on technical demonstrations, live-model sessions and field trips. To join us at The Bicester Sculpture Group see the Membership page for details. To purchase a sculpture, or to commission a special piece of artwork by one of our member sculptors, please contact the artist directly. Refer to the member's Gallery page for contact details.
